Summer Reading
How are your reading of The Scarlet Letter and The Great Gatsby? Use this space to discuss the texts with one another, and I'll log on every week or so to leave feedback as well. Happy reading!!
About halfway through Gatsby, trying to understand the terminology that describe the surroundings, but ti's going along fine. Gatsby is now telling Mr. Carraway that he had been held in high honor by many countries after the war he'd fought in. Mr. Carraway's annoyed with Gatsby because Gatsby wants him to talk with Jordan baker the golfer who'd been reported cheating in the last game she was in. They are going to talk about what happened to Gatsby that made him want to try and die in the war.
Freya I'm done with Gatsby and about a third of the way through scarlet letter; only third of the way because it's hard to understand at some points with the vocabulary I don't recognize. Gatsby was a very interesting book, and I understood the theme of it after I thought about it for a time.
ive gotten through a few chapters in the scarlett letter and the great gatsby, but i needed to restart to understand both of them better. So I started the scarlett letter again today and ill be finished in like 2 days if i set my mind to it. The scarlett letter is a bit hard to understand, but i think im actually understanding it better
I have finished now but i had some trouble getting started because the books didnt seem appealing. I switched back and forth between books and it took me a while to get into them until i started to get used to the language usage in each one.
I'm a 2nd year language arts teacher in Frederick, CO. This is my first year teaching AP literature and composition, and I can hardly wait for school to begin again.
